IPTK welcomes SHRC report

Srinagar, Aug 29: Welcoming the report of police investigation wing of State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) on unmarked graves in north Kashmir, the International People's Tribunal on Human Rights in Kashmir on Monday demanded widening of the ambit of investigation to other areas of the state.
Talking to reporters at the monthly sit-in staged by the families of disappeared persons under the banner of Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP),  the coordinator of Jammu and Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society Khurram Parvez called for a "three-tier process" involving investigation, prosecution, and reparation into the  unmarked graves.
"We request SHRC to extend its investigation to each site documented by IPTK in north Kashmir, and beyond, to all twenty districts in Jammu and Kashmir" he said.
