Chinese city bans dogs
Beijing: A Chinese city has prohibited dogs from public places and warned that dogs raised illegally will be hunted, an official said.
The China Daily reported that dogs will not be allowed at public places and if they are illegally raised, they will be confiscated or hunted in Jiangmen city from August 26.
"We hope that all citizens will cooperate with us in creating a civilized Jiangmen and send their dogs to outskirts or rural areas," China Daily quoted an official as saying. Local residents are unhappy over the directive.
"It's unfair to kill all dogs without allowing people to get their dog a license. Doing this shows no respect for life," a resident said. IANS
