CS chairs meet to discuss modalities
SOCIO-ECONOMIC, CASTE CENSUS- 2011
Srinagar, Aug 3: Chief Secretary, Madhav Lal Wednesday chaired a meeting to discuss the modalities for conducting the socio-economic and caste census- 2011 in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Census exercise is scheduled to be completed by December covering urban as well as the rural areas of the state
The meeting deliberated upon the preliminary ground work to be put in place including personnel and infrastructural support to be provided for the completion of the census exercise on time.
Union Ministry of Rural Development will provide the technical and financial support to the state government in this endeavour. Rural Development department along with Housing and Urban Development Department will act as nodal agencies. ITI Ltd, a Central public sector undertaking, will be providing the technical support to the state government for the Socio Economic and Caste Census project.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Housing and Urban Development Suresh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Asgar Samoon, Commissioner/Secretary, Rural Development Yehdullah, Commissioner/Secretary, GAD, M. S. Khan, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Me’raj Ahmad Kakroo, Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Mohammad Rafi, Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Showkat Ahmad Mir, representatives of ITI limited Palakkad and other senior officers.
