KU hostellers appeal V-C
Srinagar, Aug 3: The hostellers putting up at Kashmir University’s Rabia Basri Girls Hostel have complained of mismanagement in the distribution of Sehri and Iftaar meals this Ramazan.
The students said the hostel authorities ask them to collect Sehri along with Iftaar, in the evening.
“Given the hot summer, how can we prevent the food from rotting?” the students argued.
They said the meals given for Sehri turned stale before it could be consumed.
“It seems that the authorities aren’t maintaining the sanctity of this Holy month,” said a delegation of annoyed parents who came to know about the plight of their wards at KU.
When contacted a concerned official said no such complaint has “come to his knowledge”.
“Before going for any complaints in press they should have informed us,” he said.
Meanwhile the hostellers and their wards have appealed the Vice Chancellor professor Talat Ahmed to personally look into the matter and get the hostel facilities revamped.
