Undemocratic act

This refers to the news “NC district president threatens GK reporter’ (GK Aug 1). A democratic set-up provides space for freedom of expression and those at the helm of affairs are to guard it. But it is sad enough that a reporter is threatened of death and damage to residential house by district president of the ruling party. This speaks volumes about the plight of democracy in Kashmir. It implies that one cannot speak the truth here.
