Zakoora seeks better civic, transport facilities
SYED IMRAN ALI HAMDANI
Srinagar, Aug 4: The residents of Zakura areas like Mustafabad, Bilal Colony, Abu Baker Colony and adjoining Mohallas have appealed the Transport Minister Qamar Ali Akhoon to improve the bus facility to the area.
The residents said reaching the area from Lal Chowk was cumbersome due to lesser frequency of the buses.
The residents said the buses ply only during the peak rush hours of 8:30 AM to 10 AM.
“Thereafter no buses ply and nobody bothers to check where the buses go for day,” the residents said.
“The RTO can authenticate the facts by going through the route boards in the front of the buses, which indicate Lal Chowk to Hazratbal instead of Lal Chowk to Zakoora,” the residents said.
The residents also said that the water supply to the area was meagre.
“Basically the supply line is too small to cater to huge populace,” the residents said.
Moreover, they said, the water supply was muddy.
The residents appealed the Chief Engineer PHE to look into the matter.
Besides the residents said there was dire need of regular services of SMC Safai Karam Charies in the area as huge garbage heaps have piled up there.
