No comparison

This refers to an article by Mr. Abdul Majid (GK 4th August). There is absolutely no comparison between the two leaders mentioned in the article. Sheikh Abdullah was leader of Muslims, Dogras, Sikhs while only a small majority of Kashmiri Muslims support Geelani. I also question the two C's which are attributed to Geelani sahib: Consistency and Conviction. In fact the only thing consistent about Geelani is his inconsistency, latest being his stand on stone-pelting. For a year or so Geelani defended stone pelting during which 110 Kashmiris were killed, then suddenly he had a change of heart and termed it as counterproductive. Kashmiris have also not forgotten his days from MLA under Indian constitution to a freedom seeking leader. Why it took him so many elections to understand elections are futile. Geelani sahibs election and Panchayat poll boycotts were also rejected when 80% polling was reported. Even today whenever there is a recruitment rally for CRPF or Army there is a bee line all over Kashmir.
