Alleged negligence leads to minor’s death
Angry kin stage violent protest, ransack hospital

Rajouri, Aug 6: Violent protest broke out in the premises of District Hospital, here on Saturday, after a four year old girl died allegedly due to the negligence of the doctors.
While the protestors ransacked the hospital furniture, the district administration has ordered a magisterial probe to ascertain the facts.
Trouble erupted after a four girl, Mishbha daughter of Muhammad Yusuf of Behrot, was rushed to the district hospital as a snake bite case. “She suffered snake bite on her arm around Sehri time and we shifted her to the hospital at around 4:30 am”, father of the girl, Muhammad Yusuf said. He said that the condition of the girl was stated to be stable and she was in conscious.
“However, immediately after shifting her to the hospital, she was administered glucose due to which the poison circulated in her body”, he said adding that the girl finally breathed her last at around 8 am.
The family members and relatives of the girl assembled outside the hospital and staged a violent protest accusing the doctors of negligent. They claimed that the doctors should not have administered glucose to the girl, as it cause her death.
The protestors soon turned violent and ransacked furniture of the hospital. Police swung into action and dispersed the protestors.
Sources said that the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Ghulam Ahmed Khawaja has initiated a probe in the matter. Confirming this superintendent of the hospital told Greater Kashmir that the matter needs to be investigated so as to fix responsibility.
