‘Khajuria self-styled chief whip’

Jammu, Aug 5: Four suspended MLAs of the BJP on Sunday questioned the appointment of party’s senior MLA Ashok Khajuria as “chief whip” and termed it “constitutionally illegal”.
“He was a self-styled chief whip of the party who was appointed by the state president Shamsher Singh Manhas. Only Leader of Legislature Party has the power to appoint chief whip and our leader is Chaman Lal Gupta who never appointed Khajuria,” Jagdish Raj Sapolia told reporters here.
“Chaman Lal Gupta had never written to the Speaker for appointing Khajuria as chief whip. His appointment was illegal and people were well aware about the whole drama enacted by the state president and his accomplice Khajuria,” he added.
