JKPM condemns house arrest of Hurriyat leaders

Jammu, Aug 7: The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ Movement, (JKPM), a constituent of All Party Hurriyat Conference (APHC), has strongly condemned continued house arrest of several Hurriyat leaders for the past several days.
 Senior APHC leader and Chairman JKPM, Ghulam Ahmed Mir, in a statement said that government was openly violating the religious rights of the Hurriyat leaders by not allowing them perform Salah and other religious duties during the holy month of Ramadan.
 He said after the cold blooded murder of innocent Nazim Rashid of Sopore has sent shock waves across the state.
 Rejecting the constitution of SIT by the government to enquire about the custodial killing of Nazim Rashid, Mir said history of last twenty three years  is replete with the instances that Government constituted committees and commissions have only shielded and protected the culprits and did nothing to bring perpetrators of crimes against humanity to justice.
