Lahore, Aug 7: Disappointment is in store for Pakistan's cricketers as there will be no increase in their monthly salaries or match and tour fees when the PCB offers them central contracts for the next six months on Monday.
 According to reliable sources in the Pakistan Cricket Board, there will be no pay hikes in the new contracts that have finally been approved by chairman Ijaz Butt.
 "The new contracts are due to be given out on Monday but there is no increase for the players who were expecting some good news this time around," a source said.
 There has been no increase in the pay scales of the players for the past two and half years.
 "The fact is that the PCB has had to manage without being able to host any international cricket at home since 2009 and that has affected their earnings.
 "The board has lost money or not made enough profits while hosting its home series at neutral venues due to refusal of teams to tour Pakistan because of security reasons," the source explained.
 Another source said that as in the last two years players, who get A category contracts, will be paid a monthly retainer of 250,000, those in B 175,000 rupees and the ones in C category just 100,000 per month.
 The source said the players in the top category will also continue to get match fees of 350,000 for a Test, 300,000 for a one-day international and 250,000 for a T20 match.
 The source said the new central contracts would be for a six-month period from July to December 2011.
 Saeed Ajmal, Muhammad Hafeez are expected to be promoted to the A category of central contracts while the board has decided against giving contracts to experienced campaigners Abdul Razzaq and Kamran Akmal.
 The source pointed out that apart from the central contract retainers and match fees, the board also does give plenty of financial benefits to the players in the form of bonuses for winning matches and individual performances and they also get a share of the logo sponsorship deal the board has with its title sponsors.
