Water metering
This refers to the news regarding installation of water meters in the civil lines areas. I am personally in favour of checking all sorts of wastage and misuse of resources, be it electricity or water, but this is simple injustice when you make some people pay while the whole population of the valley enjoys. Same is the case with electricity metering system. It is a fact that in civil lines areas people have big and small lawns and these are irrigated by tap water. There is even more than one connection for so many houses. Whenever any work is undertaken by them to dig a drain or road repair, the water lines get exposed. No one among us bothers to use water judiciously. In old city too people have lawns and kitchen gardens and I wonder how these are irrigated. There should be no disparity in metering water or electricity. It is a matter that is to be taken seriously.
