PC activist passes away in Abbotabad

NISAR AHMED THOKAR

Rawlapindi, Nov 30: Senior activist of Peoples Conference, Ghulam Nabi Mir, alias Shair Dil of Charar Sharif passed away on Wednesday morning at Abbotabad here. He is survived by his wife and three daughters.
Muhammad Shafi, a close aide of the deceased PC activist, said that he breathed his last due to cardiac arrest.
He said Ghulam Nabi Mir son of Ghulam Mohi-u-Din Mir crossed the LoC in early ’90’s. He was reckoned to be one of the close associates of the PC chairman and senior Hurriyat leader Abdul Gani Lone. However, after Lone’s assassination the PC’s breakaway faction led by Ghulam Muhammad Hubi appointed Mir as its representative in the APHC Pakistan chapter.
He was running his own business in Rawalpindi over some period of time. But for past two years he was living with his long-time associates who are currently settled in Abbotabad.
Hundreds of people attended Mir’s funeral prayers and he was laid to eternal rest at a local graveyard near Jalal Baba Chowk Appar Malik Pora Abbotabad.
