Amend recruitment rules for present day demands: Panel

Jammu, Dec 9: Committee on Subordinate Legislation of Assembly today recommended amendment in the recruitment rules of Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) to make the selections more transparent and need based.
 The Committee, which met here today under the Chairmanship of MLA Kulgam, M Y Tarigami suggested trained and subject specific selections of teachers to cater to the education needs as per ground requirement.
 The Committee members Choudhary Muhammad Aslam, Abdul Gaffar Sofi and Choudhary Zulfikar Ali stressed on immediate amendments in recruitment rules of all the departments to make them in tune with present day demands.
 The Committee showed concern over framing of harsh Recruitment Rules, which it observed delays selections. It also directed the concerned to speed up selection process for the posts already advertised earlier.
 The Committee asked the Law department to give their suggestions for amendment in Recruitment Rules of Public Service Commission Service Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB) within a month. The Committee also sought information division wise about pending selections under different categories due to court stay for its examination.
