Dr Shahid Rasool is CEC member for 3 more years
Srinagar, Dec 10: Chairman UGC re-nominated Dr Shahid Rasool, Director, Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC) of the University of Kashmir (KU) as a member on the Governing Board of CEC-UGC, an Inter University Consortium for Educational Communication, New Delhi for a period of another 3 years. He has earlier served on the prestigious board from 2008 to November 2011.
The Governing Board headed by noted filmmaker Dr Jabbar Patil, is an apex body responsible for administration and management of CEC and the media centres all over India.
The other members on the Governing Board of CEC include Vice Chairman UGC, Secretary UGC, Vice Chancellor IGNOU, Vice Chancellors of Mysore University, Punjabi University Patiala, Dr. Sunit Tandan, Director IIMC and eminent journalist Subhash Chandaran.
A former Fulbright fellow, Shahid has produced more than 300 Educational Films, four of them have been nationally acclaimed and awarded.
Shahid is presently holding twin key positions as Director EMMRC and Head Media Education Research Centre (MERC) at KU. His book “Educational Television in India” was recently published by a reputed publisher, Concept Publication, New Delhi.
