R&B officials appeal CM
Srinagar, Dec 10: A group of officials of the Roads and Buildings Department have appealed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to redress their long-standing demands including filling of vacant posts in the department. A delegation of the officials said that though the R&B is considered to be backbone of the State’s economy, it is in shambles presently. “22 posts of Xens and nine posts of SEs are vacant in the department. However, people at the helm of affairs are resorting to piece meal filling of posts. The Committee’s recommendations on transfers constituted by the CM are not implemented,” they said. “Though huge funds are being provided by the Centre for various schemes, the works are not completed on time due to inadequate state at various levels,” they added.
