Admn asked to maintain winter preparedness: Nasir
Srinagar, Dec 11: Minister of State for Home, PHE & H&UDD, Nasir Aslam Wani today said the district administration has been asked to maintain top-level winter preparedness so that the people do not suffer on account of water-logging, drinking water scarcity and availability of essential supplies.
Responding to the demands of the people in the City, Nasir said, “The administration has been directed to pre-empt any eventuality on account of snow and rains and all measures will be taken to provide adequate ration and essential supplies to the people.”
Nasir conducted tour of Amira Kadal Natipora, Chanapora, Ikhrajpora, Hyderpora and Gangbugh areas.
The Minister said overall development of the State was the priority of the government and work on this roadmap was underway. “In three years of coalition rule in the State, exemplary developmental initiatives have been taken to equip areas across the State with required infrastructure,” he said, adding several mega projects had been launched in the last three years with active support of the Central government.
Nasir said the government had taken every step to make the administration responsive to the demands of the people. “Public Services Guarantee Act has been passed to expedite work at all levels of governance so that time-bound services are extended to the people. I urge the people to come forward to avail powers provided to them under PSGA and RTI,” the Minister said.
Later, the Minister heard people, who listed their area-specific demands. He assured the people that action will be taken on their demands so that their grievances are satisfactorily addressed.
