Pvt schools continue to defy winter vacation orders

CHILDREN, PARENTS SEEK DSEK INTERVENTION

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Dec 11: Despite announcement made by the Directorate of School Education Kashmir that all schools upto eighth standard shall remain closed for three months winter break, some private schools continue to remain functional even in this extreme chill creating lot of inconvenience to students and their parents.
A delegation of parents came to Greater Kashmir office and complained that “Instead of   following the government order to close down schools in wake of chilly weather, the private schools continue to remain open.”
“Because of attending school in this cold continuously, our children have fallen ill as they have to leave home early in the morning,” a parent argued.
When contacted Director Education, Sahgufta Parveen feigned ignorance about the issue.
“We have not received any complaint from any parent till now. If we receive complaint against any school, which is still open despite announcement of winter break, we will take stringent action,” the Director told Greater Kashmir.
“Those whose kids are still made to attend schools, should bring the complaint in my notice and I will take immediate action against the offending school authorities,” she added.
