Industrial units asked to adhere to pollution control norms

Srinagar, Dec 12: The industrial units of Kashmir division have been asked by the J&K State Pollution Control Board to adhere to the pollution control norms by adopting all measures to minimise the effect on environment.
These instructions were given by Regional Director Kashmir, SPCB, Ali Muhammad Dar during a visit to Lasjan area on the City outskirts.
The Regional Director took on the spot assessment of the pollution control devices and measures adopted by the stone crushers and hotmix plants and impressed on the owners to abide by all the instructions of the SPCB. The units were asked to install wind-breaking walls and raise plantations so as to minimise the pollution load on the environment because of the industrial activity.
