AKTO to work for tourism promotion in Kashmir
Appoints office bearers
Srinagar Dec 15: Association of Kashmir Tour Operators today appointed office bearers through a resolution at its general meeting.
Sheikh Muhammad was elected as President AKTO, Nazir Ahmad vice president , Hilal Ahmad Wagnoo general secretary, Umer Malik Treasurer and Liyaqat Ali Jhon publicity secretary.
A large number of tour operators from different parts of the valley participated in the meeting, the association in a statement said.
Later Sheikh Muhammad in his speech thanked the members and assured them that the organization will put all efforts to resolve their problems.
He said AKTO will start promotion of tourism at large scale all over India.
He informed the gathering that AKTO has also acquired pavilions at Chennai, Banglore, Mumbai and Delhi without any financial assistance from any department.
“In future AKTO is also planning to organize road shows at Nagpur, Nasik and Anand (Gujrat),” he added.
ATKO also launched its official website www.atko.in, which will be containing in-depth information for tourists travelling to Jammu & Kashmir.
Special guests on the occasion was Chairman Houseboat owner Association (HBOA) Muhammad Azim Tuman , Chairman (ADTOI) Abdul Hamid Wagnoo and Joint Secretary Associated Chamber of Commerce DR Rafi.
