HC quashes 5 PSA detentions

Srinagar, Dec 15: High Court has quashed detention orders of five persons booked under PSA directing the Government to release them immediately if they are not involved in other offences.
The Court quashed the detentions after counsel for the petitioners’ Mian Abdul Qayoom and G N Shaheen pleaded before that the detentions orders were in conflict with the provisions of the law and needed to be quashed for the interest of justice.
The persons whose detentions were quashed are: Muhammad Ayoub Malla son of Ghulam Hassan of Sopore, Muhammad Sadiq son of Abdul Kareem of Reyasi, Aftab Ahmad Qurashi son of Ghulam Mohudin of Tangdar, Shamim Ahmad Sofi of Sangam Bijbehara.
