Omar inaugurates AGP
Bhaderwah, Dec 15: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated National Apple Germplasm Repository (AGP) and laid foundation of Institute of Mountain Environment complex in the Bhaderwah Campus of Jammu University.
Interacting with the faculty and the students, the Chief Minister laid stress on introducing courses of modern utility in higher education institutions to enable the pass outs to get easily absorbed in open job market.
The CM said establishment of Apple Germplasm Repository would prove highly beneficial for the development of horticulture in the area and elsewhere in the State. He said Institute of Mountain Environment is also of greater significance for the State where maintenance and preservation of environment looms large for protecting green wealth and ecology of the State.
Earlier, the CM met as many as 15 deputations from various areas of Bhaderwah and representing different socio-political and trade associations. In their separate interactions with the CM they presented memoranda of their demands and discussed various issues pertaining to their concerns.
