Entrepreneurs flay govt, want powers with judicial officers

Registration row

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Dec 17: Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) today said the industry was suffering due to strike by Jammu Bar Association, while criticizing the government for transferring the registration powers from judicial officers to revenue officials.
At a meeting here today held under the chairmanship of Er Annil Suri, president BBIA, the members termed the government decision as “unjustified”.  The meeting said the decision has been taken in a post-haste manner as no “proper infrastructure is available with the Executive Officers to perform this function.”
The members said: “We apprehend huge delays in the execution of the documents by the revenue authorities/executive officers.” The said the job was being smoothly done by the judicial officers and there was no need to transfer the authority from them to the revenue officials.
