JK posts 302 against Haryana on Day 1; Saini’s blasts 156
U-16 VIJAY MERCHANT TROPHY
Srinagar Dec 1: With the help of 162 runs fifth wicket partnership between Atev Saini and Nipun, Jammu and Kashmir posted a competitive 302 runs for 8 at the end of the Day 1 against Haryana in the ongoing U16 Vijay Merchant Trophy. The match is being played at Panchkula, Haryana. Atev Saini scored 156 runs to help his team make a strong come back.
Haryana won the toss and decided to field. Jammu and Kashmir lost early wicket but the middle order batsmen consolidated the innings. J&K were struggling at 44 for 4 at lunch. However, the brilliant century by Saini helped the team to consolidate the innings. He was ably supported by Nipun who hit 65 runs. Both the batsman contributed 162 runs partnership for the fifth wicket. For Haryan U Kakal claimed four wickets while as S Khatri took two and S Paul and Bawal claimed one each.
