Kashmir Expo kicked off at New Delhi

KCCI organises mega exhibition

Srinagar, Dec 1: A grand exhibition, Kashmir Expo was today inaugurated at Shilipi Haat, Rajiv Gandhi Handicraft Bhawan, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, New Delhi.
 The exhibition is being organized by Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the help of Union Ministry of Textiles, the KCCI in a statement said.
 It said the exhibition was aimed to exclusively promote Kashmir Handicraft and Handloom. “The expo will provide a chance to the traders, exporters, weavers and artisans to display their products for exhibition and sale at the Haat,” the statement said.
 The Expo was inaugurated by Rita Menon, Union Secretary Textiles with S S Gupta, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Union Ministry of Textiles, as Guest of Honour.  
 Abdul Hamid Punjabi, President KCCI was also present at the inaugural function.
 “The KCCI,” Punjabi said, “will organize such types of trade fairs on regular basis to safeguard the business and promote Handicraft/Handloom Sectors of Kashmir.”
