Spurious drugs

This refers to the protest by Chemists and Druggists of the Valley in Lal Chowk. The rally was against unscrupulous persons selling spurious and sub -standard drugs. It is encouraging that chemists have supported the government move to identify people who are involved in this menace and illegal trade. I agree that the registered and licensed pharma professionals will never sell spurious drugs. But over the years outsiders in nexus with some unscrupulous elements are trying to make entry into Kashmir to run their own retail and wholesale business in some hospitals. The Government must crackdown on chemists selling spurious drugs. It is the question of life and safety of people which can’t be taken for granted. I appreciate Greater Kashmir for taking a lead in highlighting this issue. Now it is time for the Government to strongly.
