PDP power hungry, propagandist party: Rana
‘Omar changing politico-economic discourse in JK’
Nagrota, Dec 20: Chief Minister’s advisor, Devender Singh Rana, on Tuesday criticized opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for what he termed as “propagandists approach and rumour mongering” aimed at misleading people.
“PDP survives on double speak and divisive politics. Dividing people in the name of region and religion and propagate falsehood is the characteristics of this party. People are wise enough to understand the hidden agenda of this party aimed at seeking power by hook or crook” Rana said while addressing a gathering here.
He said PDP and its leadership lives on “falsehood and its double speak.” “They have lost their credibility and people have become aware of their vested interests to grab power”, he said adding that these politicians have become irrelevant as such and are in search of creating unnecessary controversies when none exist.
He claimed that coalition government under the “dynamic leadership” of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, has given new dimension to the development process by making common people partners in governance. “Total transformation of power from bureaucracy to the people is the resolve of the state government,” he added.
Rana said good-governance, transparency, prompt administration and public empowerment is the target of Omar-led coalition and steps taken in this direction have started bearing fruit already.
Listing the achievements of present government, Rana said that holding of Panchayat elections after a period of over 30 years in the State is a historic event in itself and empowerment of these democratic institutions is yet another historic decision. He said that the establishment of Panchayat Raj would prove highly effective for translating the strategy of equitable development of all areas into a reality.
Rana said that the enactment of Public Service Guarantee Act and its implementation in the State bringing 6 departments of Housing, Transport, CAPD, PHE, Revenue and Power under its ambit is yet another historic and innovative decision of Omar Abdullah-led Government. He urged the people to take best advantage of this Act in getting the identified public services in a fixed time frame.
