Sports lovers in Kargil contribute money for rink

Kargil, Dec 20: Though cold wave has gripped the whole state from last few days, it has not been able to distract attention of winter sports lovers of Kargil district.
 The mercury has dipped to -12 degree Celsius in the Kargil. But winter sports lovers have become enthusiastic for as they practice and organize winter sports event. The Himalayan Adventure and Snow Sports Association Kargil (HASSAK) has engaged JCB machines for making temporary practice rinks at various places.
 Ice Skating players in Kargil are contributing money to prepare rink in Kargil town at the bank of Suru River in Biamathang.
 One of the players, who was assisting a JCB driver, said that government had promised for all weather Ice Skating Rink for Kargil. “But there is no sign of constructing such rink. Players from Kargil represented India at International events and Ice Skating team of India consists of players from Ladakh region. If an all weather rink is constructed here, Team India will win several the International events,” he added.
