Cop among 2 killed in JK mishaps
Srinagar/Jammu, Dec 21: Two persons including a police constable were killed and six others wounded in separate road accidents across Jammu and Kashmir today.
A police spokesman said a constable was killed when a truck (JK01-6513) hit his motorcycle (JK01-9505) near Aripora, Zewan Panthachowk. The deceased has been identified as Aamir Farooq Dar son of Farooq Ahmad of Nowpora, Khanyar and was working in AP 9th Batallion, he added.
A passenger vehicle (JK01G-5227) hit and injured a motorcyclist Bilal Ahmad Sofi, son of Abdul Salam of Chattabal, on Boulevard road here, the spokesman said adding the wounded had been hospitalized.
Meanwhile, a man was killed and five others-including Congress District President Islamabad (Anantnag) Gulzar Ahmad Wani–were wounded when a policy gypsy collided with a truck near Jajjar Kotli on Jammu-Srinagar highway last night.
According to an official spokesman, the deceased has been identified as Ghulam Muhammad Malik son of Abdul Malik. The injured Gulzar Ahmad Wani his PSO Ghulam Hussain, Abdul Rashid Lone and Gulzar Ahmad Hazan were shifted to Jammu hospital.
Girl dies in suspicious circumstances
A girl of Gangbugh, Srinagar died in suspicious circumstances at SKIMS Medical College Hospital, Bemina here.
According to police spokesman, a case has been registered and investigation taken up.
