The Headless state

Rulers have destroyed Pakistan and dependence on America has brought its ruin

GEOPOLITICS BY SYED ARSHAD HUSSAIN KASHANI

Pakistan is in a deep mess. A mature, able and sincere leadership is highly needed to lead the nation out of the worst ever crisis it is in. President Zardari, virtually absconding, has finally been traced. He has no idea about what he is and where his country is heading. Other country is offering details and other vital inputs about Zardari to Pakistan and that is a pity. Imagine the plight of the people ruled by a man like him. The nation is paying the price for the blunders it let its rulers to commit. A careless approach demonstrated when the nation should have reacted with responsibility.
Pakistan emerged as a nation out of a state. Its journey through troubled waters was the result of able and dedicated leadership and conscious and concerned people that made a strong nation out of nothing at one point of time. However the baggage this nation carried simply devastated it. The recent past proved that Pakistan could not save itself although having abundant potential to do so. Basically common people keep themselves away from the affairs of the state and that is what is encouraged as well. That makes it easier for the exploiters to take control of the situation. The situation gradually deteriorates as usually people don't bother to interfere. Post 9/11 Pakistan slipped on all fronts. Thanks to Dr A Qadeer Khan who gave Pakistan some deterrent. Though it looks that the bomb is rusting now as attempt to destabilise Pakistan are on full swing but the country has no stand. Parveiz Musharaf, the state head then put the nation on a track which lead it to disaster where it is now clueless how to escape from it. It was a blunder then and the silence of the majority made the job easy for the imposed ruler. His kowtowing to America did all the damage to Pakistan. Musharaf was replaced by another stooge, Zardari a weak state head fully controlled by the exploiters. He is the one who can either live as a president or a criminal. How bizarre!
The recent attack by NATO (US in essence) that killed around two dozen Pakistani soldiers is another stark reality which Pakistan can't afford to ignore. Even not apologising for this crime Barack Obama has made his intentions clear. The reaction of Pakistan is a welcome sign, atleast some pain has been felt by someone in the top office. The message to US to leave the Shamsi air base made it look like there is some life left. But some hard facts disturb here; this Shamsi air base till date had killed thousands of innocents in tribal areas of Pakistan as drones were flying and allowed to fly from here. Are those living there less human than a soldier? Pakistan history vouches that men from tribal areas have fought neck to neck with the uniformed soldiers in the defence of Pakistan. These impotent rulers are used to create enemies of the establishment from within and Pakistan has lost its vital human resource in the first line of fire in the defence of US interests. The rogue state enjoys as it controls and uses the imposed state heads to combat and fight for US.
A stable pakistan is essential for peace in this subcontinent. Nobody in the neighbourhood can rejoice on seeing in this mess.  Coming time can prove very crucial as Obama has to do some misadventure to keep his prospects alive at home. He works on the same US policy to destroy the peaceful zones in the rest of the world to buy its stakes in the conflict. An eye on India as a replacement for Pakistan can prove disastrous for this whole region. Things can go even worse for India as US has laid a trail of destruction in the areas it has meddled in.
