IQAC organises workshop in AS College

Srinagar: Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Amar Singh College organized a day long workshop on Assessment & Accreditation of Higher Education institutions by NAAC at Taseer Memorial Hall of the College.
 The principal of the host college, Prof Zahoor Ahmad Chatt delivered a lecture on aspects related to preparation of the Higher Education Institutions for accreditation and reaccreditation by the NAAC.
 Prof Chatt apprised the staff about seven criteria with 36 key aspects framed by NAAC under which institutes are assessed by NAAC for accreditation. Chatt pointed out important areas like teaching-learning process, teacher-quality, admission process and student profile, student progression, research consultancy and extension at which higher education institutes must work in order to get the institutes’ re-accreditated by NAAC with better grade point score.
 Dr Tehmina Yousuf delivered welcome address in which she gave an introduction about NAAC and its activities. Coordinator IQAC Dr Wilayat Rizvi spoke on ‘post accreditation scenario’ and apprised the staff about the work done by his team during post accreditation period. This was followed by an interactive session wherein the principal answered various queries raised by audience regarding NAAC. The workshop ended with a vote of thanks by member IQAC Prof Abida Parveen.
