3 HOUSES GUTTED IN BOTA KADAL
MOHALLA COMMITTEE SEEKS RELIEF FOR VICTIMS
Srinagar, Dec 26: Three residential houses were gutted in a fire at Botakadal in Shahr-e-Khaas Monday morning.
Reports said the houses belonged to Muhammad Sidiq Kar, son of Amir-ud-Din Kar, Umar Jan Wani son of Ghulam Nabi Wani and Muhammad Ayoub Dura son of Ali Muhammad Dura.
According to residents, the fire broke out from one of the houses at around 3 AM and engulfed nearby houses.
“It was the timely action of the firefighters that other houses in the Mohalla got saved,” the locals hailed.
The residents have demanded immediate relief for the fire victims as they are shelterless in the Chilay Kalan, coldest spell of winter in Kashmir.
The Mohalla Committee Bota Kadal has urged the government to provide immediate relief to the victims.
“We are under state of shock after the incident and we are providing immediate relief to the victims…. They have nothing to live with,” said a resident.
