Kangan, Dec 27: The Traders Union and land owners of Kangan today hailed the role of Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Showkat Ahmad Mir for amicably settling longstanding dispute of road widening in main market here.
“Showkat Sahib settled the dispute by taking everybody into confidence," SM Yosuf a local trader said.
Pertinently there was a dispute between two parties in the market on Srinagar- Gumri Highway expansion.
People had raised objections to the plans of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) to undertake road widening in the built-up area. The residents were demanding that the market should be spared from the road widening.
