KU for academic auditing of Govt Degree colleges

Srinagar, Dec 28: University of Kashmir has decided to carry out academic audit of all the degree colleges of the valley from now onwards, a KU spokesman said on Wednesday.
He said the decision in this regard was taken during a high level meeting of the college principals of the valley. The meeting was chaired by KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Talat Ahmad and was also attended by Registrar KU Prof Syed Fayaz , organizer and Dean Colleges Prof Mushtaq A Kaw, Controller examinations Prof Abdul Salam Bhat, and officers of the university .
Prof Mushtaq A Kaw, according to the spokesman, briefed the VC about subject combinations, affiliation for new subjects, UGC guidelines regarding proposals, projects and various steps the DCDC had taken in the recent past to build cordial, fruitful and productive relations with colleges.
“All the college principals unanimously appreciated the role of KU to bring excellence in higher education and agreed with the KU initiative of academic audit of colleges,” he added.
Prof Talat Ahmad assured the principals that KU would support all endeavours of the colleges which are student specific and aimed at promoting excellence in higher education. “We have already initiated a change process at KU and we hope that the benefits of this change process will reach to colleges as well,” the spokesman quoted V-C as having said.
