Modernization plan for Agro Industries units approved

Jammu, Dec 2: Board of Directors of J&K State Agro Industries Development Corporation (J&KSAIDC) Friday approved the plan for modernization of all its functional units across the state to enhance production capacity.
The decision to this effect was taken at the 59th meeting of J&K SAIDCL chaired by Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir here this morning. Special Secretary Finance, Director Agriculture, Jammu, Special Secretary Agriculture, Director Animal Husbandry, Kashmir, MD and Financial Advisor J&K SAIDC Ltd were present in the meeting.
The Board approved setting up of cold storage plant at Lalmandi Srinagar, construction of two additional chambers of cold storage plant Delhi, renovation of Agro Show Room at Airport and TRC, renovation of Honey processing plant at Khanmoh and seeking fresh licenses to Petrol Pump at Srinagar. The board opined that these initiatives would help in strengthening the financial position of the corporation, an official statement said.
In another decision, the Board strongly recommended clearance of the statutory liabilities of the corporation by the Finance Department and termed these one of the main reasons affecting its financial health.
