Govt de-registers private schools with zero % results

Jammu, Dec 30: Acting tough against educational institutions having zero percent results in matriculation, Education Minister Peerzada Muhammad Sayeed on the directions of chief minister Omar Abdullah, on Friday issued directions for de-registration of such private schools.
 Sources said Sayeed issued the order Friday evening and instructed that all such private schools with zero percent results in Class 10th in 2011 should be de-registered.
 An official statement said that the education minister has also directed that the further extension of the registration of all the private schools shall depend upon their performance in the pass percentage of the results in addition to the formalities already prescribed.
 Issuing strict warning to all the teaching staff of the schools in the state, Sayeed asked the heads of the institutions to improve the performance so as to ensure better results in the schools.
 He has also directed that the performance of every child be examined continuously in order to prepare them for good performance in the ensuing examinations.
 In case of poor performance, strict action shall be taken against the teaching staff which may include the dismissal from the services.
 At the same time, the Minister has applauded the role of teachers where excellent performance has been recorded by many schools as 20 positions have been obtained by the students in Government Schools out of the total position holders.
 Meanwhile, the Education Department on Friday suspended the I/Cs Head of School having zero percent results in Secondary School Examination 2011 (Annual) in Kashmir Division.
 These includes I/C Principal Higher Secondary School, Batpora Magam, Muhammad Sadiq Banday, I/C HM, GHS Gojwara, Shameema Firdous, I/C HM BHS Chattabal, Razia Akhter, I/C. Sr. HM, BHS Gossi Mohalla, Nusrat Jhan, I/C. HM GHS Baghwanpora, Ruheena Jabeen, I/C. HM HS Lalbazar, Shaheena, I/C. Sr. HM, HS Dragger, Gh. Gossan Gorsi, I/C HM, BHS Monigam, Muhammad Ashraf Khan, I/C HM, HS Khanmohi, Ghulam Muhammad Allia, I/C HM HS Hajttara, Ghulam Haider Khan, I/C. HM BHS Harwan, Chand Narayan Razdan, I/C HM GHS, Shalteng, Neelam Qureshi, I/C BHS Kathnambal, Muhammad Javid Ahmad and I/C. HM HS Kachwan Anwar Hussain Khattana.
 The statement said directions have also been given to the Chief Education Officers of Kashmir Division to fix up the responsibility of zero percent result in respect of HS, Hardpora (Anantnag), HS Balhama (Baramulla), HS Najibhatta (Baramulla) HS Bathnoor (Pulwama), BHS Shalteng, Srinagar and HS Lamer (Kulgam) and to submit the report to Director School Education Kashmir within two days for taking further action.
