Chadoora Bar protests transfer of registration powers
Srinagar: Bar Association, Chadoora, at a meeting with its president advocate Abdul Rashid Hanjura in chair, strongly protested the Transfer of Registration Powers to Revenue Department from Judiciary. “It is a great concern of Bar Association as this way no transparency could be maintained in registration of documents by revenue officials. The proposed amendment in Cr PC and RPC by the Government for protection of Army will erode the autonomy of J&K,” said a spokesman of the Association, adding that “The decision of state government and Hon'ble High Court pertaining to up-gradation of Munsiff Court Chadoora as Sub-Judge Court was hailed. However, the State Government as well as Hon'ble High Court was humbly requested to grant powers under Guardian and Wards Act and Succession Act to Sub Judge Court Chadoora for Tehsil Chadoora and Tehsil Charishereief Jurisdiction.” The meeting was among others attended by Baba Abdul Khliq, G Q Rather, Bilal Ahmad, Ghulam Muhammad Baba, Javaid Ahmad Rather, Sofi Ali Muhammad, Rafeeq Ahmad Waza and Muhammad Shafi ( Secretary).
