'Rs 8 cr sanctioned for power infra in Kargil'

Jammu, Dec 8: To upgrade power system in Kargil district, Rs 8.50 crore have been sanctioned under Restructured Accelerated Power Development Programme (RAPDP).
 To begin with, power system in Kargil town has been brought under Phase-I at a cost of Rs 60 lakhs with focuss on modernizing ring fecing and IT centres.
 This was stated by Minister for CAPD Qamar Ali Akhoon while presiding over a high level meeting of officers convened to take stock of the power position in Kargil district here today.
 In  phase –II an amount of Rs 7.90 crore have been sanctioned for Kargil district under the same programme for renovation, modernization and strengthening of 11 KV level sub stations, transformers, reconductoring of lines, Aerial Bunched conductoring in dense areas, replacement of electromagnetic energy meters with tamper proof electronic meters and mobile service centres.
