Dr Farooq’s statement not surprising: DeM
Srinagar, Dec 8 : Commenting on the recent statement of National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah in which he had advocated reopening of liquor shops and cinemas in Kashmir, the Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief Asiya Andrabi on Thursday said it (Dr Farooq’s statement) was not surprising. In a statement Asiya alleged that the basic purpose of every “pro-India party is to transform the whole Kashmir into a prostitution centre.”
“Islamic moral code of conduct is the main hurdle in the perpetuation of New Delhi’s rule in Kashmir,” she said, adding that had the pro-freedom leaders given a due thought to the DeM’s campaign against flesh trade, drinking and other social and moral evils in 2005, NC would not have come out brazenly with proposal for reopening of liquor shops and cinemas. Asiya urged people to stand up against the government move to reopen liquor shops and cinemas in Kashmir.
