Rs 165 cr plan for ‘Greater Baramulla’

Baramulla, Jan 31: To make various facilities available for the people and to beautify Baramulla town, a comprehensive plan of Rs 165.70 crore for construction of 13 development projects has been made and would be taken up in near future, an official statement said.
 This, according to the statement, was stated during a meeting of officers convened regarding “Greater Baramulla” to prioritize development projects being taken up in the town.
 Presided over by District Development Commissioner, the meeting was attended by project consultant and expert, Joint Director Planning, representatives of ADB and ERA, Town Planner, district level officers and experts.
 Various suggestions were put forth and it was told that out of 144 development projects, 13 have been prioritized to build infrastructure and to create economic opportunities in the town.
 These projects include drainage, sewerage, inner roads, bridges, river Jhelum, bus stand, circular road, industrial estate, water sports, cable car and expansion of eco-park.
