Dal conservation reviewed
Srinagar, Feb 11: The Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla Friday toured Dal, Nageen and Anchar lakes to review the conservation measures undertaken for the waterbodies.
“Deputy Commissioner Srinagar MA Kakroo informed the Minister that to set right the land records of Dal, Nageen, Anchar and Khushaal Sar a latest methodology of measurement was adopted by the Revenue Department and it was found that presently the area of Dal and Nageen lake is 50432 Kanals which include 39226 Kanals of water body and 10206 Kanal of land mass, while the area of Khushaal Sar is 1791 Kanals of land including 1701 kanal of land water body and 90 Kanals is land mass and newly measured area of Anchar is 40728 Kanals of Land including 15748 Kanals of water body and 28980 land mass,” an official handout said.
On this occasion the Revenue Minister “appreciated the work of the concerned officers for their continuous efforts to restore glory of the world famous Dal lake and other lakes of Srinagar.”
