Salah-ud-Din pays tributes to Maqbool Bhat
Srinagar, Feb 11: Paying rich tributes to Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Bhat on his 27th martyrdom anniversary observed today, the United Jihad Council chairman and Hizbul Mujahideen supreme commander, Syed Salah-ud-Din described him a great martyr of Kashmir freedom movement.
Salah-ud-Din, according to a statement issued by the UJC spokesman, Syed Sadaqat Hussain from Pakistan administered Kashmir, was addressing a meeting of the Council.
He said, “Bhat throughout his life strived hard for freedom of Kashmir and took recourse to armed struggle to achieve it. He believed that besides political and diplomatic efforts, armed struggle was necessary for taking the freedom movement to its logical end.”
“Since February 11, is a milestone in the history of Kashmir, it is necessary for Kashmiris to pay rich tributes to Bhat and reaffirm the pledge to take his mission to its logical end,” Salah-ud-Din said.
Salah-ud-Din called upon the international human rights organizations to exert pressure on India to allow shifting of the mortal remains of Shaheed Bhat to Valley from Tihar Jail, New Delhi.
