Rain, poor drainage inundate Garden Lane

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Feb 13: The residents of Garden Lane Chanapora have complained of frequent waterlogging due to poor drainage network in the area.
“Incomplete drainage system has created problems of waterlogging in our colony due to which the lane remains inundated and it has become difficult for us to venture out of our homes,” the residents said in a statement.
They added: “The overflow of drains has seeped into our houses putting us and our property in danger.”
The locals said the drainage work was started in March 2010 but left incomplete “due to unknown reasons.”
“Since then we approached to the concerned authorities many times but to no avail.”
They appealed the MLA Amira Kadal and other concerned authorities to look into the matter.
