FS talks
This refers to the Foreign Secretary level talks between India and Pakistan at Thimpu. It is encouraging to see the two countries again talking about the vital issues concerning them. Dialogue is the only way to resolve all the issues. However, the dialogue has to be a serious one and not the one that would breaks soon. India refused to talk to Pakistan after the Mumbai attacks. That should not be the case now. Attacks take place in both the countries. So both the countries will have to join hands and resolve the issues facing them. The resolution of Kashmir has become very crucial. After the last year’s agitation in Kashmir, many countries have started acknowledging the importance of resolution. It would certainly lead to a new era of peace in South Asia. Experts have already underlined the fact that peace shall continue to elude the Indian subcontinent till the Kashmir issue is resolved. It is time that India and Pakistan get back on track and start a sustained dialogue on Kashmir, with separatists on board. That is the only way we can see peace returning to the State, which has seen only bloodshed and violence in the past few decades.
