Hamdaniya Colony laments ‘official apathy’
Residents ask DDC Budgam to visit area
Srinagar, Feb 14: The residents of Hamdaniya Colony Sectors A and B are up in arms against the authorities for “neglecting the area in development activities”.
The residents said the colony roads were in a dilapidated condition while the ongoing wet spell has added to their woes.
“The potholes are so big that one can’t move out as there is every fear of slipping on the uneven road,” the residents said adding that just yesterday an aged person was wounded when his car met with an accident there.
The resident alleged that the government has taken the area for granted by “victimizing them.”
“Bijli Sadak and Paani are among the basic facilities which the government should be able to provide. But the present regime has miserably to provide a decent living to the people,” the locals said.
“We seem to be deliberately victimized for reasons better known to the politicians who go for development but only in their vote banks,” the locals said.
They appealed the District Development Commissioner, Budgam, Muhammad Rafi to personally visit the area at an earliest and see for himself the plight of the residents.
