Army airlifts ailing porter

Srinagar: The army today airlifted its ailing porter from the forward post in high altitude area of Uri in Baramulla district. According to defence communiqué, 30-year-old Ali Muhammad Mian developed a serious medical problem at the post, wherein 35 feet of snow has accumulated and is avalanche prone. “Ali Muhammad’s condition deteriorated and the army had to airlift him in a chopper,” the communiqué said, adding the porter was later admitted in the army hospital in BB Cantonment.
