Speaker reviews budget session arrangements

Jammu, Feb 18: Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Muhammad Akbar Lone today directed for making elaborate arrangements by concerned departments for the budget session, beginning on February 28 here.
 Chairing a high level joint meeting of civil and police officers, Lone underlined the importance of the ensuing session for the people in general and legislators in particular.
 The Speaker was apprised about the security measures to be put in place in and around the assembly complex, besides the regulation of traffic and parking of vehicles of the media persons, Ministers and legislators.
 Lone directed the officers of Estates Department to undertake necessary repair and renovation works to spruce up the surroundings. He also directed the PHE authorities to ensure regular supply of potable drinking water. He directed the PDD officers to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the course of session. He asked Municipal authorities to keep the lawns, corridors and passages of the assembly complex neat and clean.
 It was informed in the meeting that JKTDC would open cafeteria in the lawns of the Assembly Secretariat to provide lunch, tea, coffee, snacks on government approved rates as per past practice. The facility would be available for the staff as well as media men.
 Information Department has been asked to maintain close rapport between the press and legislature and ensure proper and due coverage of the proceedings of the House.
