2-month training programme on ACABC begins at SKUAST

Srinagar, Feb 1: Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-K, Dr Tej Partap today urged the budding entrepreneurs to take benefits available under Agriclinics and Agribusiness Centre (ACABC) scheme launched by National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad, government of India.
The VC was speaking at the inaugural function of a 2-month training program of 12th batch of ACABC that was kick-started in the SKUAST-K today. The programme is being held in collaboration with the Directorate of Extension Education.
The VC said this kind of training would really provide the platform to educated youth to become right entrepreneurs. He devised them to form ideas and ideology to become the successful entrepreneurs.
Earlier Dr. M A Sidiqi, Nodal Officer of the training programme gave detailed resume of the activities. Dr. A.S. Kamili, Director Extension Education, SKUAST-K also spoke on the occasion.
During the programme the participants shall be exposed to field visits and interaction with the successful entrepreneurs in the Valley.
The participants will be imparted trainings in cut flower production, medicinal and aromatic crops, mushroom cultivation, fruit plant nursery, forest plant nursery, vegetable processing, agriculture extension services, custom hiring, walnut production and processing, juice, jelly and jam production and processing, apiary, poultry and fisheries etc.
