92.7 BIG FM announces BIG SHAYER

Srinagar, Feb 1: The 92.7 BIG FM has announced the winners of the much talked about Big Shayer contest even as the winners got a chance to air their couplets on the radio network.
 The event, conducted in collaboration with Institute of Hotel Management, as per the FM spokesman, aimed to encourage young poets of Kashmir.
 “After a tough competition, Sahil Maqbool was announced as the BIG SHAYER,” she said.
  The second prize was bagged by Mehak Nazima of Institute of Hotel Management while the third winner, Mudawar is a class 12th student.
 “Through the activity the station intended to encourage the youth towards poetry and enhance their creativity skills. The activity was special in many ways as it targeted to involve the people of the City in the activity that helps preserve the cultural identity,” said a 92.7 BIG FM handout.
 The radio station started the contest on January 17 while around a 100 people registered for the fray.
 The final 10 contestants were selected by poet Zarief Ahmed Zarief while the grand finale was held on January 31 at Institute of Hotel management, Raj Bagh, the FM people said.
 RJ Sara, Haya and Nasir were present at the occasion.
 Speaking about the  BIG SHAYER, Cluster Head, 92.7 BIG FM, Sidarath Arora said: “We are always trying to reach out to the people of the City and in this process we try to positively impact the lives of every listener.”
 “The BIG SHAYER idea came from our programming team and I am proud of them for taking a big step in maintaining the cultural identity of Kashmir.”
