Hurriyat (M) leaders call on PKC chairman

Srinagar, Feb 19: The senior leaders of Hurriyat Conference (M) Prof Abdul Gani Bhat and Bilal Gani Lone called on the chairman of Pakistan Kashmir Committee, Moulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, who is presently in New Delhi, a spokesman of the conglomerate said in a statement.   
He said the Hurriyat leaders apprised Moulana Fazal-ur-Rehman about the prevailing situation of JK and efforts underway to resolve the Kashmir issue. “The improvement in relations between India and Pakistan and the confidence building measures taken by the two countries for resolving all the contentious issues including Kashmir dispute also came up for discussion at the meeting,” the spokesman added.
Hurriyat leaders, according to the spokesman, made it clear to Rehman that the participation of Kashmiris in talks process was must. “Parleys without the inclusion of Kashmiris are bound to fail,” Hurriyat leaders added.
“Rehman assured the Hurriyat leaders that aspirations and sacrifices of Kashmiris’ will not be overlooked and that their participation in every process of talks is obligatory,” the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, the spokesman said a Hurriyat delegtaion comprising Muhammad Sidiq Adil, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Abdul Rashid Awantipora, Ghulam Qadir Rah and Muhammad Yousuf Paloo today visited Brarpora, Islamabad (Anantnag), to extend condolence to the bereaved family of the paternal aunt of Hurriyat leader Shahid-ul-Islam. The members prayed for the deceased and sympathized with the bereaved family. Shahid’s paternal aunt had recently passed away.
